The 54th New York Film Festival kicks off this Friday, September 30th and runs until Sunday, October 16th. One of the biggest end-of-year film festivals, Flixist will be there checking out some of the most acclaimed anticipated releases from around the world.
Some highlights from NYFF 2016 include Selma director Ava DuVernay’s prison and racial inequality doc 13TH, Barry Jenkins’ critically acclaimed coming-of-age film Moonlight, Paul Verhoeven’s darkly comic rape and victimization film Elle, and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, Ang Lee’s experiment with 120-frames-per-second 4K 3D. We’ll have looks at a number of these films and many more in the coming weeks.
Tomorrow we’ll have a preview of some of our most anticipated films from NYFF, and our first reviews for the festival will run on Thursday. For NYFF tickets and more information on the many films being screened, visit filmlinc.org/nyff2016 or click here.
