Confirming all of the rumors that were floating around this past weekend, Disney and Marvel have announced that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will be premiering on Disney+ on August 17, 2022. In a new trailer for the series, we finally get our look at the big green lady and… um… That sure is some CGI.
I’ll just get this out of the way now: I’m not exactly a fan of how the titular character looks. I didn’t expect a radical redesign to make her roided out or anything, but the CG is definitely kind of amateurish here. In shots directly with Hulk, She-Hulk looks weirdly out of place. Maybe that’s just because this is a trailer, though, so I’ll reserve judgment until the first episode airs.
Anyway, the premise of this show seems to mirror the comics somewhat. We don’t have an exact picture of how Jennifer (Tatiana Maslany) inherits her powers, but she does become a lawyer for a new superhero division and even begins to stay in her Hulk form throughout.
It seems the central plot of this season -if the show even gets a second season- is that she is working to clear Abomination’s (Tim Roth) name. That’s a really cool way to reintroduce the best part of the MCU Hulk film, which is otherwise a really bad movie. I guess Jennifer will also start dating, meaning Marvel is finally getting some sex scenes. OH YEAH! (Obvious /s here).
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has been confirmed for nine episodes and is said to lead into films for Marvel’s MCU Phase Four. If that rumored Planet Hulk film contains her, Bruce, and Abomination, then I’m game.
