There’s a new hero in town and he hates line-cutters.
Slither director James Gunn’s upcoming superhero film Super is destined for dark comedy greatness. It tells the story of a man named Frank (Rainn Wilson) whose wife (Liv Tyler) leaves him for a drug dealer (Kevin Bacon), leading Frank to transform himself into a costumed vigilante named the Crimson Bolt. He’s joined by a local comic store clerk/psychopath (Ellen Page), who becomes his trusty sidekick Boltie, as he wages a war against crime and, apparently, general rudeness. Nathan Fillion also stars as the Holy Avenger. Heck yes!
IFC Films has picked up the film, but no announced release date yet. If it’s half as darkly comedic and on-the-nose as Slither, we’ll be in for a treat.
