With these new set images we finally have a first look at Ben Kingsley and Sacha Baron Cohen in Martin Scorsese’s 3D family film, Hugo Cabret. Also starring Chloe Moretz, Jude Law, and Emily Mortimer, here’s the film’s synopsis:
“Hugo Cabret, Scorsese’s first film shot in 3D, tells the tale of an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. When Hugo encounters a broken machine, an eccentric girl, and the cold, reserved man who runs the toy shop, he is caught up in a magical, mysterious adventure that could put all of his secrets in jeopardy.”
I’m used to seeing pictures of Cohen that make me smile, but it’s been a while since a photo of Kingsley has had the same affect on me. With December 9th of 2011 as its target release date, we’re still a full year out from this one. I’ll wait until the trailer is out before making a judgment, but nothing about this film’s story or cast looks or sounds like a family film to me yet.
