Update: Criterion Collection exclusively comes to Hulu Plus

Update: It has now come to my attention that Hulu will be the only place to get streaming Criterion titles. This is from a blog post by Senior VP of Audience Eugine Wei. Also in the post is the news that Hulu has access to 800 titles. Whoa.

As I lie awake staring at my ceiling this morning (as I’m oft to do at 4:30am), I received an email saying that Criterion Collection movies are coming to Hulu Plus. Figuring that only a few titles made it to the service, I took a look. And by jove, it’s a heck of a collection so far.

According to Hulu, around 150 titles are on the service starting today, with many more to come. Perusing the selection, I noticed that all of the main Chaplin movies are there, including some that haven’t been released yet. Also available are classics such as M, Solaris, The Seventh Seal, Hausu, and many many more, all in glorious HD.

Finally, Hulu Plus is worth the eight dollars a month. I actually just signed up as soon as I saw what was available; I could care less about the TV selections. What do you guys and…
