I’m shocked I’ve never heard of Frankenstein’s Army before, because it looks awesome. In a nutshell, Frankenstein’s Army is the story of a last-ditch gambit by the Nazis to create a race of zombie supermen to push back the advancing Soviet army. The methods they use are from the recovered journals of that Dr. Victor Frankenstein. Excuse me while I wet myself with glee.
The film, to be directed by Richard Raaphost, begins shooting in September, so there’s not going to be a lot of news out of this one for a while. The teaser footage here is mostly a proof of concept/”jumping off point” sort of thing, so there’s no real telling if the film will actually look like this find of found-footage, newsreel-esque stuff. You can also find the very first teaser clip below the jump, along with the film’s official synopsis.
Man, I never thought I’d be excited about zombies again, but there you go.
[Via /Film]Toward the end of World War II, Russian soldiers pushing into eastern Germany stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary Frankenstein’s work to assemble an army of supersoldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades – a desperate Hitler’s last ghastly ploy to escape defeat.
