By Marvel has been bantering around getting a Luke Cage (a.k.a. Power Man) film onto the big screen (or small screen) for a bit now, but it has sounded kind of dead for a while. Maybe it is a bit more alive than we thought, however, as actor and Old Spice spokesman Isaiah Mustafa has reportedly put together a fake trailer for a Luke Cage movie as if to advertise his ability to play the character.

I’m sure the low budget is affecting my opinion of this a bit, but I’d rather have a more serious take on Luke Cage as he could be an incredibly interesting character if played right. As one of comic’s first black characters to have his own book a Luke Cage film could be one of the most interesting superhero films made. It seems Mustafa’s take on it would be a bit too tongue-in-cheek.
Mustafa spoke a year ago about getting the role, saying, “I’ve already had a meeting with Marvel. I talked to them and I told them that I was a gracious reader of their comics and that I wanted to be Luke Cage. So we’ll see where they take it.”
