By A… A reboot? Of Bridget Jones’ Diary? Really, Hollywood? Of all things?
I guess the good news is that Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids is in talks to take the reins, though this still sucks just the same. It’s like finding dog crap on your shoe and realizing it’s been there for weeks, but then there’s the unwrapped piece of candy sticking in it that is Paul Feig. Not only did he give us Bridesmaids, but he also co-produced the hilarious and nostalgic TV show Freaks & Geeks as well as acted in that movie Heavy Weights that nobody knew Judd Apatow co-wrote for… Actually Judd Apatow produced Freaks & Geeks as well. What the hell, man, that guy is everywhere.
Whatever. He’s a good comedy writer and clearly knows what he’s doing when it comes to female-led comedies, so hopefully he can churn out something other than the nausea-inducing chick flick that categorizes the last two Bridget Jones movies… Wait, Renee Zellwegger’s back for this in all likelihood because there is no God? And on top of that I now have to create a tag for Bridget Jones. Yep. Life sucks.
