Before you watch the trailer for The Double, here’s some free advice: don’t do it. Not because it looks like a bad movie, mind. On the contrary, it looks like a relatively solid movie, and I’m interested in seeing it. You shouldn’t watch this trailer for The Double because it gives away 95% of the movie. Yep. It’s one of those guys. There seems to be a major twist in the film that COMPLETELY changes the dynamic, and this trailer serves it up on a platter with steak sauce.
The Double is about government agents played by Richard Gere and Topher Grace tracking down an old Soviet assassin, who has reemerged after being thought dead for decades. It’s from the writers of Wanted and 3:10 to Yuma. One of those movies is well written, and the other one is Wanted, so there’s a fifty-fifty shot this will be interesting. We’ve also got the poster in the gallery, where you can see Topher Grace making a face kind of like Kermit the Frog yelling at someone.
