I can’t exactly call this a Flix for Short since it’s not really a short film. Press Play has released the first edition of their new video essay series “In The Cut,” where contributors will deconstruct specific scenes within certain films and really get into the technical nitty gritty. The first release features the chase/Batpod sequence of The Dark Knight, arguably one of the best action sequences in a film plagued by a lot of over choppy editing and an abundance of handheld shots held by a Parkinson’s patient. The analysis is, well, you don’t actually know what’s going on in the scene.
Anyway, this is a pretty fantastic examination of the sequence. They have also embedded the full, uninterrupted clip for review, which I’ve included below the jump. For all you technical film dudes out there, how does this stack up? Is this as awesome an analysis as I think it is?
