Connie Britton confirms Friday Night Lights movie

I realize that a few days ago I spent some time ranting against TV to film adaptations (COUGH*24*COUGH), but now one of the best shows to ever grace television is heading for the big screen. Can you guess which? Yes, it is Arrested Development, but other than that Friday Night Lights is also heading to theaters (again).

In an interview with Us Weekly, Connie Britton confirmed that the Friday Night Lights movie is happening “for realsies” and that Peter Berg and screenwriter Jason Katims are on their way to writing the script. Britton stated: “I think it’s really a matter of…getting everyone’s busy schedules aligned and making it happen. It kind of feels like there’s a lot of commitment to it.”

As you can tell with the header image above, I’m a bit obsessed with Friday Night Lights. Before the days of Flixist, I never watched Friday Night Lights because a television show based on an film about high school football sounded dreadful to me. After being hounded by Fronz to give it an honest try, I watched the first few episodes and ended up watching the entire five seasons with my girlfriend in matter of days. Suffice to say, I am ecstatic that a Friday Night Lights movie is that much closer to actually happening.

Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
