By [REC] 3 Genesis will have its world premiere tonight at midnight at SXSW, and you can bet one of our Flixist fellas will be there to experience it (unless they are addled by the demon rabies). While we await the review, two clips of [REC] 3 have surfaced over at Bloody Disgusting, and we’re happy to share them with you. The clip above is ripe with potential mayhem.
Now, I’ve been eagerly anticipating this film ever since I heard it was in the works. This prequel to the first two [REC] films will ditch the found-footage conceit and explore the origin of the infectious possession. Eventually we’ll get [REC] 4 Apocalypse, which will bring the whole series to a close, possibly an apocalyptic one. Magnet will be handling the domestic release of [REC] 3, but no date has been set yet.
We have the second clip from [REC] 3 Genesis after the cut. It’s quotidian and done in found-footage style, but it seems to establish a few of the film’s supporting characters (aka victims). Look out for our SXSW review of [REC] 3 Genesis in the near future.
