Have you ever thought “gosh, I’d like to watch Taxi Driver, but I’d also like a splitting headache”? Apparently Martin Scorsese has. He says he plans to use 3D technology for all of his future projects. Speaking on a filmmaking panel alongside director Ang Lee, Scorsese said that 3D technology is the future, comparing it to the advent of sound and color. He wished aloud that his past movies like Raging Bull and Taxi Driver had been in 3D. “There is something that 3-D gives to the picture that takes you into another land and you stay there and it’s a good place to be,” he said.
His first feature length 3D film, Hugo, was beautiful, and utilized 3D like an art. But no matter how beautiful it is, Marty, that doesn’t change the fact that I don’t have $30 for your tickets +$3 for Advil, afterward.
