By World War Z has just not been able to catch a break. Between untold budget problems, concessions for the MPAA, and now extensive reshoots, the Max Brooks adaptation seems to have been dealt literally every terrible hand a film shoot can get short of a sudden hurricanado, which combines the deadly force of a hurricane with the Bill Paxton fury of a twister. References! Anyhoo, Damon Lindelof, co-writer for Lost, Prometheus, and the most entertaining celebrity twitterer I know, has been called in for re-writes on the script, presumably specifically in regards to the seven weeks of reshoots coming up for the film.
Lindelof’s a great writer, when he’s really in his element. As I’ve said in my review, Prometheus‘s writing really shines before it goes off the rails entirely, and I don’t care what you all think, I still loved the ending of Lost, and none of you f**kers can take that away from me. I’m still very hesitant that World War Z is actually going to turn out to be a good movie, but at least it’s in good hands.
