Last LCD Soundsystem show will be on documentary DVD

If you’re like me, you wanted to go see the last LCD Soundsystem show but couldn’t get/afford tickets. Once the documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits arrives in stores, you’ll at least be able to watch the 3.5 hour show in its entirety. You figure they had to do something special, what with the doc playing exclusive theatrical engagements that were mostly one night only. (Sorry again, Intercourse, Pennsylvania.)

According to The Playlist, the full show will be included as a second disc on the DVD/Blu-Ray release of Shut Up and Play the Hits. The first disc will include the theatrical version of the documentary as well as extra interview footage with writer Chuck Klosterman (Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs; Fargo Rock City). Having not seen the film but read Klosterman, I’m going to assume half of the interview footage is entertaining and occasionally insightful while the other half is kind of dispensable and sort of irritating.

Shut Up and Play the Hits arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 9th.
