What’s that? You haven’t heard? Well let me bring you up to speed. Not only has Shia LeBeouf decided to take his career in a new direction by abandoning the big film franchises that have made him the star he is today, and not only will he star in smaller, independently funded films, AND not only will one of those films be Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac, but he will also engage in ‘unsimulated’ sex for the role. Anyone who has seen Von Trier’s Antichrist knows exactly what that means: full on, ball slapping, hardcore nastiness. I mean, if Antichrist was unapologetic and in your face I can only imagine what a film from Von Trier titled Nymphomaniac will entail. Actually, I think I’ll take a moment and imagine it right now…
Okay then, back to business. So yeah, we’ll get to see someone who we’ve watched grow up on screen engage in the act of boot knocking, also on screen, so I guess everything has come full circle for Shia LaBeouf. I have to admit that I really am impressed with the kid and his decision to take a new path as an actor. His new film Lawless has been getting very positive buzz, and he really has no other direction to go but up. Hopefully taking risky roles such as these will help him hone his craft as a performer and he’ll blossom into the great actor we know he is. And then he’ll star in Transformers 12: Dark Side of the Darker Side of the Moon.
