Aftershock is a natural disaster film that’s all about the resulting human drama. It’s Nicolas Lopez’s first domestic directing gig, and stars (and is produced by) Eli Roth. It centers around a gang of friends on a trip to Chile as they’re hit by an earthquake that also releases some folks from an asylum nearby. Even if that premise sounds awfully goofy, the trailer looks gritty enough to work.
I’m just worried that the whole thing might be too corny. But then again, cheesy horror has its place too. I’ll keep an an eye out for it when it releases sometime next year.
