By After the big news yesterday that we would be getting spin-off Star Wars films releasing alongside the new trilogy, with each focusing on a single character, we all wondered why Yoda was first. If Yoda isn’t your style, then perhaps you have something more to look forward to now. According to Entertainment Weekly (who have sources inside confirming the happenings), there is both a Boba Fett film (that would take place in between either A New Hope and Empire or Empire and Return of the Jedi) which will probably make him a stone cold badass, and a Han Solo film featuring a younger version of the character (which will reportedly take place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope).
EW does also report that these films have no attached directors or actors, but does estimate that the timelines could bring back famous characters like Vader and Jabba the Hutt. They also note that it’s very early on in production and subject to change. I’m admittedly a lot more interested in all of this now…as long as they’re not straight to video releases. If we can get a big budget film for all of these characters, I think I’m going to be very, very broke.
