By Spike Lee’s upcoming remake of Oldboy has sparked lots of controversy within the Flixist staff. Some utterly oppose the idea, some welcome the new look, and I, well I haven’t seen the original. I want to go into the film with a fresh perspective that isn’t held back by seeing something that may or may not have been done before.
Yet, with images like the ones in the gallery, I can’t keep ignoring the fact this is a remake of something else. I know the original has something with an octopus and the image above just makes me think of that. I don’t know, I have complex feelings about this. Oldboy hammers into theaters November 27th, old sport.
