New trailer: Transcendence

Omniscient, sentient operating systems– can’t live with ’em, can’t live without ’em!

I mean, what’s a researcher to do when the internet houses the malevolent spirit of her dead husband’s fractured psyche? Sounds like a sitcom to me! But seriously, the new trailer for Wally Pfister’s Transcendence looks awesome, and considering Pfister was Inception‘s cinematographer, it’s easy to see why. 

Transcendence tells the story of Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp), a lead Artificial Intelligence researcher who becomes the subject of his own transcendental study when his physical body dies and consciousness is technologically uploaded. Soon, is wife (Rebecca Hall) and her fellow researchers realize Will’s capacity to become omnipotent, and fight to destroy the monster he’s become.
