Did you grow up with fond memories of the sitcom Green Acres gracing your television screen? Maybe as a kid you caught it on Nick at Night and thought it was kind of funny. It really wasn’t. It was terrible, and now it’s going to be terrible as a movie… and a Broadway musical.
Clearly there’s very little known at this early stage, but the rights have been picked up and the movie/Broadway musical is being shopped around. Maybe in the 60s a wealthy couple moving to the country was original, but the concept has been used so many times since then in every genre of comedy there is that I can’t find anything appealing here. Not even someone trying to do Eva Gabor’s iconic accent is promoting a smirk from my clearly cynical lips.
Anyone, anywhere actually interested in this?
