By If you read our review of the fantastic You’re Next or saw the movie you know the guys behind it are fantastic at subverting our expectations of genres. That’s why its awesome that they seem to be branching out with The Guest. From the trailer it looks like some straightforward action fodder, but there’s hints of a dark side to it.
The plot is pretty generic, but from the comments that Dan Stevens, that charming guy at the door, makes about the ending generating discussion it’s pretty obvious they’re going for a bit more. If it is anything as awesome as You’r Next then I’m in.
