Trailer for David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars

I think I may be one of the few people who prefer David Cronenberg’s eXistenZ to films like Eastern Promises or Scanners. But regardless of whether he takes a fantastical or realistic bend on his films, they’re always twisted in just the right way. His characters are always feasible, yet they have a broken darkness within. 

That’s why Maps to the Stars is intriguing. A carve through the Hollywood system, Maps has a very talented cast at its core (Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikoska, John Cusack) and looks to dissect the dying starlet mentality. I can’t wait. Maps to the Stars opens in Canada Ocotber 31st, with a domestic release sometime next year.
