The man who delivered the greatest presidential speech in the history of cinema is returning to the franchise he delivered it in. Bill Pullman will be coming back for the Independence Day sequel and joining him is Judd Hirsch. We probably could have guessed Pullman would be back as basically everyone else is as well, except Will Smith.
What isn’t clear is how he’s still going to be president, which he has to be because no one else will be able to rally the troops. The film takes place 20 years after the last one with the second wave of aliens coming to earth to attack. Most of the new cast is playing the children of the old cast so maybe his son will be president and ask his dad to come in and make a speech so great that the aliens will turn away and flee.
