By When the first trailer for the new Goosebumps movie emerged, I noted that it looks like a surprisingly fun creepy kids romp arriving just in time for Halloween. While the movie still looks like fun from what we’ve seen, this new trailer plays up more of the “scary” side of Goosebumps than the “spooky” side.
But hey, we’re not here to talk semantics between “scary” and “spooky,” you just want to see this new trailer as posted below. Jack Black still seems like a fun cast as the fictionalized R. L. Stine, playing up his nerd factor more than Black’s more infamous stoner-rocker persona. Playing it straight fits well into the movie’s meta-hook of classic Goosebumps monsters rising from the pages to wreak havoc in our world.
Goosebump hits theaters this Halloween on October 16th. I know it honestly won’t be the scariest movie out there, but gosh darn it, it still looks like fun to me.
