Apparently, the new Jurassic World is due to be such a massive hit that Universal decided to make the big announcement for the third film. The sequel is set for June 11, 2021.

While the cast members and director have yet to be confirmed (Chris Pratt could be eaten in this upcoming second film, for all we know), Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow AKA “the dude who made The Book of Henry and got fired off of Star Wars: Episode IX” will return as executive producers, with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley again producing.
Writing the screenplay will be Emily Carmichael, who has a number of writing credit including the upcoming Pacific Rim: Uprising. She will write the screenplay with Trevorrow, based on a story from Trevorrow and his frequent collaborator Derek Connolly.
Meanwhile, we still have another one of these dinosaur movies to watch in between, with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom coming out this year on June 22. Check out the recent Super Bowl trailer here.
