Have we done a zombie musical before? It’s hard to keep track, anymore. Either way, this one takes place during Christmas, and that certainly makes it very original and cool.
I’m sure the Christmas season has made us all want to die in one way or another, and now Anna and the Apocalypse is here to help us live that dream. We have a sleepy town rocked by the end of the world, leaving Anna and her friends to sing and fight as they try to escape and find their loved ones.
It’s a colorful, carefree sort of trailer, which I dig, and the action looks to be bloody and inventive. However, I’m not sold on the humor. Even a whiff of a Justin Bieber joke should have us all raising our eyebrows in concern.
This gleeful end of the world will hopefully keep the outdated referential humor light when it hits select theaters on November 30 before opening nationwide on December 7, 2018.
