By In the torrent of Marvel news from San Diego Comic Con, the House of Ideas is pulling from its ’70s catalogue with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Simu Liu will be taking up the heavy lifting as the titular Master of Kung Fu, a creation of Steve Englehart and Jim Starlin, back at the height of Bruce Lee fever in the US. “Jim Starlin… That name sounds familiar,” non-comic book readers might say. Starlin is of course famous all over again recently for having given us Thanos, the MCU’s Grimace-like tyrant. Let’s hope that man is collecting his checks from Marvel Studios these days.
Also joining the Shang-Chi film are Awkwafina and Tony Leung, making this movie amazing already. Tony Leung is allegedly set to play The Mandarin, who was previously seen as a weird imposter charlatan in Iron Man 3, played by Ben Kingsley. This time, we’re getting the real deal.
Expect to see a brawl brewing when Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings releases on February 12 of 2021.
