Gal Gadot and her husband Jaron Varsano have teamed up to form a new production company called Pilot Wave. In addition to announcing their new company, the duo has also revealed their first project will be the film Irena Sendler, a fact-based historical thriller fashioned around its real-life namesake. Gadot will be starring as the titular character in the film for Warner Bros, with her husband and Marc Platt producing under their new company.
“As producers, we want to help bring stories that have inspired us to life,” the couple said in a press release. “Pilot Wave will create content that promotes the perspectives and experiences of unique people and produce impactful stories aimed at igniting the imagination.” The film will follow the life of Sendler as she stands against Nazi Germany’s occupation of Poland to help create a safe haven for 2,500 Jewish children during the Holocaust.
With the founding of Pilot Wave, a few of Gadot’s currently announced projects will have production shifted. These include the film My Dearest Fidel and the Showtime limited series Hedy Lamarr. It seems the future is looking bright for the Wonder Woman star.
