Abominable clip is kind of silly until a dude gets his face ripped off

Plenty of film clips can be tired, boring wastes of time where nothing really happens, and you feel the marketing team grabbed any random half-minute from the movie and called it a day. That is very much not the case in the above clip for Abominable.

At first it’s very weird and ridiculous with this dude dancing around a bloody-faced yeti (I have a sneaking suspicion it might just be a guy in a costume) shouting incoherent victory, but of course this is the sort of celebration you don’t do unless you know you’ve scored that touchdown, and boy does he learn that lesson the hard way.

They yeti peels that guy’s face off like the skin from an overripe plum, and I’m clapping at my computer screen. Movies with face-peelings can be few and far between, but it’s always a welcome sight.

This reminds me very much of those Messin’ With Sasquatch beef jerky commercials but with a touch of ultra-violence, and I’m always down for a touch of ultra-violence. Maybe this entire movie will turn out to be a beef jerky commercial. Anything is possible.
