In the deluge of information coming out about both Marvel and Star Wars projects from Disney today, some new details emerged for the Disney+ She-Hulk series. Not only has actress Tatiana Maslany been 100% confirmed for the starring role, but the series will kick things off with both Hulk and Abomination as supporting characters. In addition to Maslany, both Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth will be reprising their roles from previous Hulk media.

It’s strange to see Marvel actually acknowledge the crappy Incredible Hulk movie from 2008. While there are definitely fans of Hulk’s introduction to the MCU, it’s routinely listed as one of the weakest MCU films overall. Tim Roth was probably the best part of the film (I prefer Ruffalo to Edward Norton), however, so it’s great to see him come back.
My main hope is that She-Hulk will focus more on its main character instead of its cameo appearances. I’m happy that Ruffalo is getting some more screen time, but I don’t want Hulk to upstage his female counterpart. The same goes for Abomination, though he’ll likely only stick around for a single season. He’ll also probably have better CGI effects, which would be nice for a series set to likely debut in 2022.
