Yesterday, Apple TV+ released a trailer for the new season of Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet, which returns this spring. In the trailer, proclaimed game visionary Ian Grimm (Rob McElhenney) and newly-appointed co-creator Poppy Li (Charlotte Nicdao) sit down to begin the next phase of their mega-huge game. Creativity can be difficult and having to share the brainstorming process with another person is even tougher, especially when that person is Ian Grimm.
As we saw in the first season, Grimm is frustratingly difficult to work with. Changing things on a whim with no regard for his staff’s feelings or workload, he uses his success as a way to steamroll the ideas of others to get what he wants. While underlying issues are explored, the connection between him and Poppy is evident as the season came to its conclusion when she got the recognition she had been waiting for.
The trailer also checks in on a few other characters as well, including story writer C.W. Longbottom and testers Rachel and Dana. There’s also a weird situation between David, Brad, and Jo, and an appearance from Snoop Dog in a mocap suit.
Mythic Quest is set to continue on Apple TV+ on May 7th.
