By Adaptations of Stephen King’s works range from the truly incredible (The Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite films) to the not so good (Firestarter is not). After the unfortunate news that Carrie is getting a remake, it was time that there was some good news for fans of King’s work. Is this that good news? I’m not quite sure, but it is news, so you get to read about it anyway! Based on a book that our own Alex Katz says was “basically The Simpsons Movie on crystal meth,” the upcoming adaptation of Under the Dome now has a writer: Matt Green, who wrote for a a bunch of TV shows as well as Green Lantern.
I haven’t seen any of the shows he has written or Green Lantern, so I can’t speak to his quality. This one could really go either way. Although a live action remake of The Simpsons Movie would be pretty… weird.
