With a new trilogy on the way and a standalone feature, Star Wars is becoming “new” again… again. Most excited fans are eagerly awaiting The Force Awakens this holiday, but there also has also been a little detail on the singular Star Wars: Rogue One trickling out as well. The latest info is that film composer Alexandre Desplat will be doing the soundtrack for the film.
The french composer has done scores for other films including the last Harry Potter films and even a Twilight movie, but is probably best known currently for his Oscar winning compositions for The Grand Budapest Hotel. It’ll definitely be a little strange seeing a Star Wars film without an iconic John Williams score, but some new music will definitely breathe some unique personality into Rogue One as a standalone flick.
