Continuing the far-future shenanigans of one Takeshi Kovacs, Netflix has released the full trailer for season two of Altered Carbon, giving us a more in-depth look at the sci-fi series starring Anthony Mackie.
Season two would certainly look to expand on the Altered Carbon universe, pulling from other books in the series by Richard K Morgan; there’s a much grander scale evident in this trailer alone, compared to the neon Blade Runner aesthetic affected in season one. This time around Kovacs (Mackie) is returning to his roots on his home planet of Harlan’s World, with his past as an international special operator coming to haunt him. Those things always do, don’t they?
I’m curious to see how more Altered Carbon pans out, with the introduction’s hook so reliant on the “resleeving” technology of this sci-fi world, where human consciousness is uploaded from one body to another, essentially allowing for immortality. Now that the concept has become a part of the world, one hopes season two hooks us with a great story, besides the vibrant action on display here.
We don’t have long to wait, with season two of Altered Carbon launching on Netflix February 27.
