By Reports from the land of beer and potatoes have confirmed that ex-Outkast rapper, Andre Benjamin (Andre 3000), is set to portray the influential late guitarist, Jimi Hendrix. The Irish Film and Television Network is reporting that shooting for the film, All Is By My Side, will begin shooting in Ireland later this month. It will cover Hendrix’ time in London from 1966-1967 when he began work on The Jimi Hendrix Experience debut, Are You Experienced.
Benjamin’s not a stranger to film, as he’s had a few roles during the mid-00’s including Semi-Pro and Be Cool. Writing and directing the Jimi Hendrix biopic is John Ridley, whose screenplays include this year’s Red Tails, Three Kings, and Undercover Brother.
