Let’s begin with a message from our sponsor, the letter W: Wow. What the shit. Whaaaa? Whoa. What is this again?
After a lackluster trailer dropped for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom last week, there was little indication that another ‘life finds a way’ trailer would sneak up this week and just trounce it in every single way. First this makes sense within the world it creates. Second, scary prehistoric animals with weird genetic mutations that make them even scarier? That’s supposed to be a major plot point of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but this makes it ever so much more creepy. Excellent teases. Excellent telling without showing. And creepy fucking music.
Annihilation stars Natalie Portman and is based on the book of the same name by Jeff VanderMeer. It’s the first book of a trilogy that was released in its entirety over eight months. The trilogy deals with a secret organization named Annihilation that manages entries into a part of the United States that has been abandoned and is now being reclaimed by nature. Apparently with plenty of weird developments. Guess what three books I will be reading before February.
Annihilation makes something new February 23, 2018.
