By The limited Apple TV+ series Truth Be Told has been renewed for a second season. Starring (and executive produced by) Octavia Spencer, it seems the ratings from its initial run were good enough to warrant a continuation. I suppose it’s a regular show now, but that’s cool.
Season two will continue the focus on Spencer’s character, an investigator and podcast host that potentially put an innocent man behind bars for 20+ years. Diverging from the novel that was its source material, this new string of episodes will feature an entirely different case and characters that Parnell will be helping.
Actress Reese Witherspoon, one of the executive producers for the show, told The Hollywood Reporter, “I’m thrilled to be making another season of Truth Be Told with Apple, our incredibly creative group of producers and the infinitely talented Octavia Spencer. I can’t wait to see how Poppy Parnell’s next chapter unfolds.”
