By Although there has yet to be an official announcement, Deadline reports that a deal between Warner Bros and Darren Aronofsky to direct the sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine is as good as done. There’s been discussion to shoot sound stage portions in New York in order to accommodate Aronofsky & Jackman’s family. They’re also eyeing to take the production to Japan after March in order to give Aronofsky time to pimp out Black Swan for award season.
A sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine was pretty much inevitable, but with Aronofsky set to direct and The Usual Suspects scribe Christopher McQuarrie’s script focusing on the Claremont/Miller Japan arc, this movie took an interesting turn.Â
Any thoughts? Anybody else think Aronofsky/Jackman should just scrap this movie and make a sequel to The Fountain? Bueller?
