Every year Austin Film Festival grows in attendance and notable line-ups, but this week’s 18th annual event is the most promising yet. While last year had 127 Hours and Black Swan a couple weeks before their release, this year’s event has a whole host of notable films, including some that won’t come to theaters until next year.
I’m looking forward to seeing Like Crazy, The Rum Diary, and The Descendants weeks early, but it’s films like Albert Nobbs and Jeff, Who Lives Have at Home (pictured above) that have me real excited. Along with early reviews of these films, I’ll also check out some Texas-centric films (which the festival has many of, such as Austin High), some horror (Below Zero), and some interesting unknowns (Jiro Dreams of Sushi).
In other words, it’s going to be another week full of festivals reviews at Flixist so stay tuned for our coverage from Austin, Texas.
