If you’re sitting in front of your computer covered in blue paint desperately anticipating the sequel(s) to James Cameron’s masterwork, this will come as bad news. For everyone else, this may not even qualify as news at all.
It seems that even though the Avatar sequels are ready to move on to the next step in the production process, it’s going to take a little longer than originally thought. Cameron as confirmed that the earliest the film will release will be at the end of 2015, and since the second and third sequels are being shot back to back, it would follow that there would be another Avatar in 2016 as well. This was all anticipated, folks.
Cameron recently purchased 2,500 acres of property in New Zealand that he is going to shoot these sequels on, and he is also planning to live on this same stretch of property while the films are in production, so I’m fairly certain this is all just one big ploy so Cameron can pretend he actually lives on Pandora. One day in the far future the Avatar films will have long been forgotten, but the legend of the blue naked people of the New Zealand wilderness will live on. I’m calling it right now.
