Netflix is continuing its trend of acquiring everything even possibly nostalgic to millennials with the announcement that Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender will begin streaming on the service in May. Starting May 15, 2020, fans will be able to stream all three seasons of the original series at their leisure. Oddly enough, Avatar was available in other countries on the service, but this marks the first time it is legally streamable in the US.
With Netflix working on some kind of live-action adaptation of the series (and not the horrendous M. Night Shyamalan film), it only stands to reason that Nickelodeon would grant it permission for this beloved show. We’ll likely even get an announcement of its sequel series, The Legend of Korra, in the near future.
