Bellflower makes money, completely deserves it

Bellflower is easily one of the best movies of the year (if not the best), but it only received a two screen release for its first weekend in theaters. Fortunately for everybody involved, the film has already made $24,000, which may not seem like much, but the film’s budget was only $17,000. Along with making a rather nice percentage profit, the film sold out several shows and has already been booked in 200 more theaters, and will be reportedly available at over 500 by the end of the month. This is truly fantastic news, and it means that many more people will have a chance to experience the film. I expect all you Flixist readers to see it and show that this kind of movie is worth producing and distributing. Watch your local release lists, and realize that the film will probably be showing in art house theaters rather than major multiplex cinemas. You need to see this movie. Seriously.
