These damn kids and their newfangled cartoons. Every convention I go to involving movies or comic books there are banners for this Ben 10 thing. I only know one 10 and her names Bo Derreck not Ben. But clearly Hollywood don’t market to old timers like me and a hit cartoon franchise is something that a live action movie must be made out of. Enter Joel Silver and his movie makin’ powers.
Silver will be co-producing with Steve Richards and Andrew Rona of Dark Castle and Warner Bros. is looking to distribute. The film will completely recast the series and will mostly ignore the two live action television flicks that have already been made. That sounds nice and all, but I’d like to talk about this quote from Silver he gave about booting up a Ben 10 franchise: “I tried to do (something similar) with Speed Racer and failed miserably. You always learn more from the ones that don’t work than the ones that do work.”
Mr. Silver, I am here to tell you that this is one old timer who dug the hell out of what Speed Racer did. Sure, my single ticket price didn’t make the film a financial flop, but there’s one person out here who thought it worked. Now, get back to making a movie for them yungins’
