The cast for Wes Anderson’s new film is set, and it’s one hell of an ensemble. (Johnny Depp is not involved with the film, by the way, contrary to our report a few months ago. Ditto Angela Lansbury.) The Grand Budapest Hotel will feature previously confirmed actors Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwartzman, Saoirse Ronan, Jude Law, Owen Wilson, and Ralph Fiennes. Also on board: Willem Dafoe, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Edward Norton, Harvey Keitel, F. Murray Abraham, and Mathieu Amalric.
Hot diggity damn!
So what is The Grand Budapest Hotel about? The Film Stage says it’s a period comedy set in Hungary inspired by the work of Ernst Lubitsch and Billy Wilder. (Double hot diggity damn!) This means lots of charm, wit, and dapper clothes, and probably no songs by The Kinks.
Production on The Grand Budapest Hotel is set to begin in January. Expect to see the finished film some time in 2014.
