By We’ve got some new information on the sequel to Black Dynamite. Michael Jai White first mentioned the project earlier in the year after a Tribeca Film Festival screening of Freaky Deaky. It looks like Black Dynamite 2 is going to the wild west by way of Mel Brooks and Sidney Poitier.
White recently said the following to Crave Online:
We had discussed, and it looks like we’re getting closer to the decision of something that would be an homage to Blazing Saddles. […] It’s a western comedy in that spirit of Blazing Saddles, but you mix that with Buck and the Preacher.
Wonder if they’ll call it Blazing Black Dynamite or A Fistful of Black Dynamite (aka I Shot That S**t Before I Stepped in the Saloon). No word on if President Grover Cleveland will be involved in the film’s plot.
