Australian filmmaker Andrew Dominik has been confirmed to be beginning production on his Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde, to be made by and for Netflix.
Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049) is set to star as the leading lady, while Adrien Brody (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Pianist), Bobby Cannavale (Mr Robot, The Irishman) and Julianne Nicholson (Black Mass, I, Tonya) fill out supporting roles. Caspar Phillipson, Toby Huss, Sara Paxton, David Warshofsky, Lily Fisher, Evan Williams, and Xavier Samuel will round out the cast.
Brody is set to play the legendary playwright Arthur Miller, while Cannavale will be portraying equally-famous Yankee Joe DiMaggio. Both were married to Monroe.
Dominik is directing and writing the film, his script based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates. Blonde is expected for sometime in 2020. Until then you can see some of Dominik’s work on Netflix now, in season two of Mindhunter.
