Roberto Orci, known for both his work on the Star Trek and Transformers film franchises and his numerous offensive conspiracy theories, will direct the next Star Trek movie. Deadline initially reported on the rumor, before Paramount confirmed the news late yesterday.
The co-screenwriter of The Amazing Spider-Man, who believes 9/11 was an inside job and wrote a whole movie about it, had been reportedly vying for the job ever since J.J. Abrams hopped the fence to direct the new Star Wars. Orci genuinely believes the government played a role in the Boston Marathon bombing, and will also help develop the story.
At time of writing, the film is set to release in 2016, directed and written by the Hollywood equivalent of Alex Jones.
