I’ve seen the first Boondock Saints once, a long time ago. It was pretty good from what I remember. When The Walking Dead began airing on AMC, I was like, “Oh, cool, that guy from Boondock Saints!” I never saw Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, and from what I’ve been told, I’ve missed nothing. That being said, we’re getting a third film, Boondock Saints 3: Legion, and I can’t help but apathetically shrug. But hey, that’s just me.*
Series creator Troy Duffy revealed the title and some plot details on the Boondock Saints Facebook fan page a few days ago and apparently, after All Saints Day, our anti-heroes find themselves still in jail, their misadventures in vigilantism having inspired legions of copycats. It will also see them flashing back to their very first crime.
Duffy takes full accountability for the delay between the last film and this one, saying “It’s my fault…it’s taken awhile…It’s cause I want to get it right.” He offered no details regarding when to expect the movie, but if fans have waited this long, they can surely wait a little longer.
*Dear Boondock Saints fans, please do not murder me in an act of righteous fury.
