DC’s Expanded Universe (what they’re calling their cinematic universe and TV universe) is a place of furrowed brows, death and bad editing. That’s no place for Booster Gold! See Booster Gold is a man from the future who travels back in time and uses his future knowledge to save the day and be a hero. It’s kind of tongue-in-cheek and as such wouldn’t fit so well into DCEU’s deadly serious film universe.
According to Greg Berlanti, who is in line to direct the film and also produces DC’s television universe, “As of right now we have no connective tissue to those worlds. It’d be a separate thing.”
That means a superhero film that stands on its own, outside of the realm of a connected universe. Is that actually kind of refreshing to anyone else?
